A Review of the eBay Seller App for the iPhone
Are you an eBay seller? Do you have an iPhone? You’re in luck! eBay has recently released the iPhone app specifically dedicated to eBay sellers. It’s simple, quick, efficient and just works. There’s no hype to what it can do but I think the beauty of it is that it’s just so easy to put up a quick eBay listing.
This app is split up into 3 different sections; research, sell and status. The research section is where you can browse eBay for existing and completed listings in order to find the going price for your item. The sell section is your listing process and finally the status process is just checking on your scheduled or active listings.
The research piece can be pretty helpful for us booksellers by using the scan option. This allows you the typical book scouting feature to scan a barcode and get a price back, typically from Amazon. It’s a great way to get further market information for a particular item and to judge it’s value on the run.![]()
I was able to recently list a box of labels I had in about 5 minutes. This included taking the pictures, researching the completed listings for a judge on how much the labels were going for and finally listing the labels. It doesn’t give you very many options to tweak your listing such as fancy themes or HTML listings but I will typically never use those anyway. It’s just a simple, easy to use app and works great. I highly recommend it for both one-off listings to eBay and to help as a book scouting app to get further prices than just Amazon.
Here are some further screenshots I took to give you an idea of what it looks like.
